Rosehips

This beautiful jewellery of the woods is called so many names in various districts of Latvia! However, we all agree on this fact – the rosehip fruit is unsurpassed source of vitamin C (10 times more than in black currants, 100 times more than in apples). 100 grams of rosehips contain four doses of daily vitamin C, and a half of the daily dose of minerals: potassium, magnesium, calcium. They also have vitamins of B-group, PP and P. It is no wonder that the rosehip is considered to be the "natural polyvitamin". Rosehip is used in folk medicine to treat cold, heart and nerve diseases, for promotion of haematopoiesis and reduction of inflammation.
