Pomegranates

Pomegranate is a fruit with the largest number of seeds. Seeds and the pleasant taste was the reason why people in old days considered pomegranate as the symbol of fertility and abundance. In Greece during the wedding ceremony dried pomegranates were thrown to the newly weds – they believed if the fruit bursts and seeds fall out, then family will have plenty of children. Up to now pomegranate is considered as an aphrodisiac (booster of sexuality) and praised as an integral part of the love drinks. Indian sages claim that refreshing juice of the fruit purifies blood, rejuvenates body and improves complexion of the face. It is a highly valued tool for the prevention of different cardiovascular diseases and is able to lower level of cholesterol in the blood.
