Pineapples
It is interesting that Latvians first got to know pineapples canned, and as a fresh fruit - much later. Pineapple is the king of the tropical fruit. Its name comes from the Indian origin words "Nana Neat", which means "valuable, precious fruit". It can be considered as one of the most valuable and healthy products for a reason – there is a substance (bromelain) in the medulla of the pineapple that does not allow the body to store fats and helps to burn them actively. A ripe pineapple contains a large quantity of carotene and potassium - it heals the skin, prevents the occurrence of malignant tumours, improves blood circulation and reduces neck pain. Pineapple can as well be proud of the important vitamin A, B and C, contains proteins, carbohydrates, fibre, magnesium, chlorine and iodine.
