Black currants
Black currant is very similar to the red currant and it is a Latvian-like and universal berry (the most widely grown berry cultivation in Latvia) with outstanding "characteristics". Already our ancestors knew this truth, and it would be useful to bear that in mind also nowadays. What benefits and values are there in black currants? It is well known that the black currant juice, syrup or jam added to tea, helps to cure cold, increases resistance to diseases of the body and improves appetite. But these are not the only feats of the berries that grow on the riverside and in gardens! Black currants are used to reduce the lack of vitamins in the body: it is enough to eat 20-30 berries a day to provide the required dose of vitamin C. It has a calming effect on the nervous system, removes salts from the body, helps against gastritis, inflammation of the larynx and other diseases.
